The workshop is designed for painters with little experience in plein air

(outside) painting and those who wish to overcome their own roadblocks that

may be present when painting out.   Shea will guide the students with

demonstrations, student discussion, and individual help as they progress

through their paintings done on location in Old Town Helotes.

The workshop will be limited to eight students and prior registration is

required.  Students may use oils, water soluble/mixable oils or acrylic paints.

Shea generally  paints with oils.

Supply List

Colors (limited pallet, any brand):   Titanium white, ultra marine blue, alizarin

crimson, cadmium yellow light, cadmium red light and phthalo blue.

Brushes : Size #4 -#8 flats, filberts (3-4 each) and one round size 0, for detail

work.

Portable easel and pallet,

Other Supplies: Two or three stretched canvas, or canvas boards, sizes

6”x8”, 8”x10” or 9”x12”; chair or stool if needed, medium and medium

holders, a role of paper towels, and bags for refuse.

Please wear comfortable clothing for the weather.  Bring a hat, sunscreen, an

apron if necessary, and a sack lunch.   Water and a morning snack will be

provided.  Meet at Helotes Gallery at 14391 Old Bandera Rd, Helotes, TX.

with your supplies ready to enjoy a rewarding plein air experience.
